Have you ever tried a Brazilian Pastel? If you search for "pastel" on the Internet, the first thing you will find is information about pastel colours. But, our pastels are a delicious, traditional snack food from Brazil.
Brazilian pastels are a typical fast-food dish consisting of thin crust pies fried in vegetable oil. The result is a crispy, golden-brown pie. The most popular pastel contains ground meat or cheese with some veggies and seasonings mixed in. Traditionally a savory snack, you can put just about anything in a pastel, and nowadays you will often even sweet pastels. Some with chocolate, guava jam and mint - all of which are awesome!
In Brazil, pastels are sold just about anywhere including stalls on the street, bars, and convenience stores.
Here at
The Rock (Nagoya), we've got them, so we invite you to try one (or two) of these popular Brazilian dishes.
You get 2 pastels for the just ¥800, and you can choose
